Nudism (aka naturism) is probably as old as the beginning of time. But the term "naturism" was first named in 1778 described as "a natural style of life and health" by the French. The first nudist resort was opened in 1903, in Germany, followed by a nudist movement there throughout the 1920's, until it was supressed by the Nazi regime. The naturist movement spread throughout Europe and reached America in the 1930's under the leadership of Ilsley Boone, a Christian minister.
